Jennifer Graf, coloratura soprano, is at home in many vocal genres
including opera, operetta, oratorio, early music, and musical theatre.
Some of her favorite
roles performed include Madame Hart (The Impresario), Mabel
(The Pirates of Penzance), Giulietta (I Capuleti e
i Montecchi), Blonda (Die Entführung aus dem Serail),
Musetta (La Boheme), Frasquita (Carmen), and Olympia
(Les Contes d’Hoffmann). Musical theatre credits
include Meet Me in St. Louis, Camelot and Oklahoma!
Ms. Graf sang the soprano solos in Vivaldi’s Gloria
and Magnificat and in Mozart’s Requiem with
the Pennsylvania Sinfonia Orchestra, and was first soprano soloist
for Beethoven’s Choral Fantasy with the Philadelphia
Classical Symphony. She has performed as soprano soloist in Bach’s
St. Matthew Passion at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia
and in Handel’s Messiah, both with the Ama Deus Ensemble.
Jennifer also has extensive experience singing and performing
early music. She is a member, and featured soloist, of the Vox Renaissance
Consort, located in southeastern Pennsylvania. Jennifer frequently
sang and studied early music while pursuing her graduate degree
in Boston, and was president of the West Chester University Chamber
Choir, which specialized in music of the Renaissance.
In August of 2007, Jennifer performed the role of Phyllis in Iolanthe
at the International Gilbert and Sullivan Festival in Buxton, England.
Her first solo CD, Tidings of Christmas, was released in
the fall of 2006. She is also founder and general director of Olde
Towne Carolers and Olde Towne Performances, specializing in holiday
performances and year-round entertainment.
Jennifer, a native of Quakertown, Pennsylvania, currently resides
in Hellertown, Pennsylvania with her husband, Brian Smith. She earned
her Master’s Degree from The New England Conservatory of Music
in Vocal Performance and she studies voice with Dr. Kathryn Chilcote.
